Rubber Boots Silly | Edmonton Engagement Photographer

Stephanie and Nathan…silly, simple and so much in love!

What else do you wear in spring but Rubber Boots! So off we went on a beautiful sun shining day in search of some “puddles” then you combine that with “silly” and you get Stephanie & Nathan. From Nathan lifting his foot when kissing beautiful Stephanie, to Stephanie reaching into the standing water and flinging a handful at Nathan, there were several silly face shots (mostly Nathan) and always the “so much in love” expression from Stephanie.

I look forward to this wedding in a couple of months, if the atmosphere is anything like their engagement session, I may just be exhausted from laughing rather than shooting! Thank you Stephanie & Nathan….you guys ROCK!!!

BE YOU – BE BEAUTIFUL

Do you ever have so much to say about a certain topic,  that when you sit down to write about it, you just don’t know where to start?

Growing up, in my early years, I found that I was so critical about my looks, strawberry blonde hair, freckles and a gap between my front teeth. I never shared those thoughts with anyone at the time, instead I was shy, I avoided conversations, I did not have many friends, but I think that was more my own doing – I was scared to put myself out there, fearing that no one would like me, not wanting the rejection! Is it peer pressure? Is it insecurities within? I remember wishing and hoping that my boobs would be big, that my freckles would disappear, that I was not “so fat” !  And all this, before becoming a teenager!

Earlier this morning I was on facebook and came across a conversation in one of the groups I belong to, a client had their photo’s done, they turned out beautiful – yet the client was self critical, calling herself fat and ugly! This happens and unfortunately more often then we know. Over the past month, I had experienced the same expression of self criticism from a client of mine…..correction….”A beautiful Client of mine!”

Anyways, in the conversation, there were several responses, some that touched on the topic of self-esteem, some that touched on the topic of editing and some that touched on understanding the client and their thoughts on their own body – all good responses.  A little further down, a photographer had posted  the below video  and suggested perhaps putting this video up on her facebook page.

We always have to remember, how we perceive our looks, features and even overall self – is NOT how others perceive our looks, features and overall self.

Remember always – YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

{Miss B} | Edmonton Boudoir Photographer

You know, I had done up a bunch of interview questions for my clients to complete after they see their images, but right now I am finding it hard to put them up, not because anything bad was said, the comments are quite flattering to myself and the photography that I love so much. It would be cold – standard questions for everyone, like I never sat and talked to them, like I never got to know them on a more personal level….I can’t do that!

Miss B – stands for BEAUTIFUL! And that is just what this aspiring singer and model is. She is what I say all the time “the world is yours to explore, don’t limit yourself…do it all – if you can dream about it, you can do it!”

Confident is what Miss B is and such a joy to work with, I look forward to “shooting” her again, until then….grab a java, sit back and enjoy.
